The Newbold Comyn Arms and The Clarendon, Leamington, 17/5/14

Today the Crazy Pandas decided to make the most of the sunshine by enjoying a day out in  Leamington.  Parking at the Newbold Comyn Arms, MJ enjoyed a half of Byatts’ Crystal Cookie, a very nice session copper bitter, and AR had a half of Aspalls while we browsed the stalls at the pub’s Spring Fair, where we met the owner of Elysium Comics, and MJ spent a little more than he ought to…  After another half of cider for AR (and unfortunately coke for MJ) as well as an absolutely lovely burger, we then walked up through the park to come out on Campion Hill, and were treated to a lovely view of the whole of Leamington.  Heading back down into the North end of Leam, we ended up at The Clarendon, which also had a comic stall selling tickets for the upcoming Leamington Comic Convention.  MJ restrained himself to only buying a single comic, while AR had a Symmonds cider and MJ had a half of Kozel lager, which he was intrigued by as it was one he hadn’t seen before, but was then disappointed with as it wasn’t much different to any other lager.  The pub itself was quite pleasant, and the staff were helpful, but MJ hopes that next time we visit they have more ales on than just the standards from Wye Valley and Purity.
